A beginning.....the Sequel

Do you remember Zines?

If you do you just might be old.  Zines were the blogs of those days before the internet had reached that line of becoming useful and then sprinted as fast as it could to being addictively annoying.  Those cheap, often Xeroxed, wannabe magazines that spanned every subject matter and differing levels of indeciferability.  The ones I read the most were about music (Surprise!)  Point is they were the blogs of the day.  And they took a little bit of work to do.  Not much, judging by the Zine that I put out and my best friend Josh and I wrote.  So it is with that sort of mindset that I put together a blog.  I haven't been interested in the medium based on the logic that with the ease of internet access to everyone, there was a whole bunch of boring diarists telling me about their day and I have to pretend to care.

Not saying that I disagree, just that it might not apply to everyone

But then I read a few and my mind started to change.  They all weren't bored shut-ins sharing pictures of their cats or rampant narcissists thinking I care about every minute piece of their life.  Ideas, art, and promotion can be shared and fueled through this.  Plus, I figured that any chance I have to write in a public forum the weird crap that comes out of my head, why the hell not.  Its also great for self-promotion (wtftx.com).

So like those cheap, and not so cheap, Zines back in the day, I have really no point.  I will try really hard not to just write about mundane day to day crap that no one cares about ("today I had a sandwich"), thats what Facebook is for.  Though I suspect that I will use this forum for some peer review of not only my writing but also my attempts recording music.  Consider yourself warned.   So I'll give it a shot, and we'll see what becomes of it.  Or how many people I scare off because maybe the things in my head should stay there.

I leave you now with some neat stuff that has nothing to do with me other than I like  it.  Put the headphones on and enjoy.
